The French Open is here and unlike last time around, predicting for the Women’s side became one the toughest things ever. Let me start off with the Men’s side. There is not much to comment here and Rafael Nadal is sure to rake up another Roland Garros crown. He may be challenged by Roger Federer (Keen to complete his set of grand slam), Novak Djokovic and Nikolay Davydenko. You will always have the Spanish and the Latin American contingent doing well at clay. Mosquito will be having his last French Open and I am sure he would like to go out with a bang. Any American lasting the 1st week will be a great achievement for them!
As for the Women’s side, with the retirement of Henin, things have been thrown wide open and atleast half a dozen of them have a realistic chance of winning the slam. Though the Eastern Europeans and Russians (san Masha) have done well here on clay, but it could be anyone’s title this time around. A surprising thing is that the World’s #1 tennis player is actually a Dark Horse for this tournament despite winning her 1st clay title this season.
The predictions:Possible WinnersAna Ivanovic
Jelena Jankovic
Svetlana Kuznetsova
Serena Williams
Dark HorsesMaria Sharapova
Nicole Vaidisova
Dinara Safina
